“I was raised Catholic. My mom brought me to CCD and church at St. Catherine of Siena Parish (almost) every Sunday. As I went through elementary school and middle school, I was doing just that, going through it. I was just going through the motions of being Catholic without really understanding what it meant to be a member of the Church. I didn’t notice God’s presence in my life until after I was confirmed and began attending St. Joseph High School. During my freshman year, my faith life was completely changed. I began going to adoration before school, without even knowing what was happening just because something within me desired to be there. I began to learn on my own as well as in class and truly fall in love with the Church. I had the gift of meeting many great people along the way who have helped me grow in my spiritual life. Without these people and a strong prayer life I don’t know if I would have ended up teaching CCD for 3 years in high school, going on multiple service trips, or pilgrimaging to Italy and Poland. I am overjoyed to say that I am no longer just going through the motions of my faith, but have a strong connection to Christ, who inspires me in everything I do.”
