“I grew up here. I went to St. Thomas Aquinas for grammar school, Prep for high school, and I even spent my time in college discerning at Fisher. All along the way my faith has grown. I remember falling in love with the Church in 8th grade religion class. We were going through Church history, and I just remember thinking, ‘I believe this. I want to be a part of this family of the Church. I want to do my part.’ I was just so excited to learn the stories of regular people doing heroic things, and even more excited to learn that they’re not just stories; these saints changed world history, but it took a pilgrimage in high school to make me start to change myself with prayer, regular confession, and daily Mass as often as I could. That change led to an openness to a priestly vocation which I discerned at the Diocese’s college seminary. Although I ‘discerned out,’ those years of prayer and study formed me into the person I am today. I am still trying to change myself for the better daily, but I have my wife and 4 month old son to help me pursue holiness.”
